Police on Monday night arrested a 36-year-old Forest Street man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 6:15 p.m. on March 19, officers were dispatched to the area of 86 Forest St. on a report that a vehicle blocking the road nearly struck a fence as its operator tried to back it up, police said.
Arriving, officers found the vehicle at 80 Forest St. and spoke with the driver, according to a police report.
They smelled alcohol on his breath, it said.
The man failed field sobriety tests and was additionally cited for failure to drive right and driving with a foreign license for more than 30 days.
He was released on $260 bond and scheduled to appear March 29 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
