The family of Arthur Sjögren will present a concert dedicated to his memory at 4 pm on Saturday, October 29 at First Presbyterian Church, 178 Oenoke Road, New Canaan, CT. Sjögren, who died in January, was Director of Vocal Music at New Canaan High School for 33 years. He formed the New Canaan Madrigal Singers and led the ensemble on 23 tours to Europe, India, Africa, the Far East, and South America. Art also founded the Pro Arte Singers, a professional choral group that he led for over 40 years, and was Artistic Director of Charis Chamber Voices, one of Westchester leading choirs, from 2010 to 2020.
As part of the concert, both Charis and alumni of Pro Arte will perform works that were especially dear to Maestro Sjögren. Admission is free.
