Police last week arrested a 46-year-old Fairfield man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 4:04 p.m. on Aug. 24, a Monday, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle pass another car in a no-passing zone, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled marijuana on the driver’s breath, the report said.
After administering field sobriety tests, police brought the misdemeanor charge, it said. The man was transported to headquarters where he provided a urine sample, it said.
He additionally was cited for failure to drive on the right.
Police released the man on $300 bond and scheduled him to appear Sept. 3 in state Superior Court.
