Selectman Nick Williams said during Tuesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting that he’s hearing rumors about “a new hire in Town Hall—a so-called ‘project manager’ that’s going to help [the director of Public Works] with numerous Public Works projects that are in place.” Williams asked First Selectman Kevin Moynihan whether the rumor is unfounded and this exchange followed:
Moynihan: I don’t deal in rumors.
Williams: So that is incorrect, it’s unfounded? Sorry I didn’t hear what you said. You mumbled.
Moynihan: I said I don’t deal in rumors.
Williams: But can you answer my question?
Moynihan: This is a time for comments.
Williams: OK so at our next meeting I’m going to propose a hiring freeze at Town Hall.
