New Canaan Library presents a talk by author Fred Landman, author and owner of the magnificent Sleepy Cat Farm estate in Greenwich. Connecticut. Sleepy Cat Farm is the vision of Fred Landman, who acquired the handsome Georgian Revival house and grounds in 1994. Deeply committed to the concept of harmony between house and garden, he has dedicated himself to the landscape to create “a garden of which the house could be proud”. Sleepy Cat Farm: A Gardener’s Journey is an illustrated tour of this lavish estate.

Sleepy Cat Farm’s mission is to instill public awareness of horticulture, landscape architecture, and the value of plants in our lives. It is a collaboration with esteemed Greenwich architect Charles Hilton and celebrated landscape architect Charles J. Stick who, with Landman, created an abundance of garden experiences across the 13 acres of land—formal boxwood and hornbeam hedges, dense woodland, reflecting pools, arbors and follies—and a “ferme ornée” offering organic produce to the community.
