Police after midnight last Friday arrested a 49-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with driving under the influence.

At about 12:37 a.m. on Feb. 2, an officer on patrol spotted a car on Cherry Street that didn’t have a front license plate, according to a police report.

During a subsequent stop on Park Street, the officer found signs of impairment in the driver, the report said.

The officer conducted field sobriety tests and established probable cause for the misdemeanor charge, it said.

The woman refused to undergo breath tests, police said.

She additionally was cited for failure to display plates.

Police released the woman on $300 bond and scheduled her to appear Feb. 16 in state Superior Court.
