John Anthony Albano, 85, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away in the comfort of is home on Monday, December 2, 2024. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Lucy, married for 53 years, and their four loving children, Madeline, Joann, Enza and John.
John was born on March 26, 1939 in Tufo, Italy to the late Giovanni and Maddalena (Colacchio) Albano. John immigrated to Bridgeport, CT in his early teen years, with his mother and two sisters. Sadly, his father died during World War II when John was just 5 years old of age. It was apparent, that the war and the tragedies that he and his family experienced, wore greatly on him as he spoke often of these throughout his life. These circumstances may have had a part in shaping him at an early age to be the determined, highly motivated, dedicated family man with a tremendous work ethic. John was a loving son to his mother, a caring brother, and a very, very loving husband and father who was strongly devoted to his wife and children.
John was proud of his Italian Heritage, and becoming an American citizen. He finished his schooling in the United States, worked for the US Postal Service, and served proudly in the US Army.
