Scott Gress is running for the Town Council this November. I fully support Scott for this position. There are a number of reasons for my vote.
Scott grew up in this town and knows it very well.
Board of Education incumbent Hugo Alves, a Republican, is seeking re-election. The GOP holds a 6-3 majority on the nine-member school board. Five seats are up for election: three currently held by Republicans, two by Democrats. There are three Republicans and three Democrats running for Board of Ed. Here’s our exchange with Alves.

As a registered Republican, active community member, and friend of Kate Brambilla, I am proud to endorse her for the Board of Education. Kate moved to New Canaan the same year my family did, and she was one of the first people we met in the East School pickup line. Her genuine interest in others and deep compassion were apparent immediately, and she made us feel at home even though she herself was new to town.

In July, New Canaan Republicans gathered for our traditional biannual Caucus, an approach that has guided our nomination process for generations. Caucus voters selected Arvid Bajaj, Scott Gress, Pavla Levin, and Penny Young for Town Council, and Hugo Alves, Phil Hogan, and Julie Toal for the Board of Education. They also endorsed our uncontested candidates, led by First Selectman Dionna Carlson and Selectman Steve Karl.
