Congratulations to the New Canaan 8th grade girls basketball team on winning the Fairfield County Basketball Association’s Class A championship this season (the first New Canaan team—boys or girls—to have won the A bracket in travel history, team reps say). Players include Victoria Hricik, Liliana Favale, Hadley Miller, Avery Van Dam, Lola McManus, Mia Ciavarelli, Emma Kutney, Eta Catalano-Israel, Amelia Emson, Callie Carriero and Mia Bourlatskii, playing under coaches Alexa and Onyx.
