Police last week arrested a 56-year-old New Canaan man by warrant in connection with a marijuana-related investigation from this past summer.
On July 18, an Old Stamford Road resident told police about “unwanted marijuana” in the home that belonged to the man, officials said.
Investigators tried to contact the man but he didn’t return their phone calls, according to a police report.
Police obtained an arrest warrant on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.
On Nov. 5, the man was driving on Old Stamford Road when he asked an officer working an off-duty construction job for directions, it said.
The officer recognized him and knew of the arrest warrant. The man was taken to police headquarters and processed on the drug-related charges.
He was released on $5,000 and scheduled to appear Nov. 15 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
