Police on Friday arrested a 40-year-old New Canaan man by warrant and charged him with driving under the influence.
The warrant stemmed from a Nov. 17 car crash at Weed Street and Old Stamford Road, according to a police report. There, at about 9:15 p.m., the man crashed into a utility pole, the report said. Police secured a warrant to establish the Frogtown Road man’s blood-alcohol level, and the results came back at .292 at the time of the crash, the report said, compared to a legal limit of .08.
Police additionally charged the man with failure to drive right.
He was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear March 26 in state Superior Court.
