Police on Saturday night arrested a 38-year-old man accused of leaving the scene of a single-car crash while drunk-driving in New Canaan.
At about 7:51 p.m. on June 13, officers were dispatched to Weeburn and Comstock Hill Roads on a report of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole and left the scene, according to a police report.
Authorities located the vehicle in Norwalk and identified the driver as a Danbury man, the report said.
In speaking to him, investigators detected signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests, it said.
He was charged with driving under the influence and evading responsibility. The man refused to undergo a test to establish his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
He additionally was cited for failure to drive right.
Police released the man on $500 bond and scheduled him to appear July 23 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
