Police before dawn Sunday arrested a 24-year-old Ansonia man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 2:42 a.m. on Feb. 12, officers were dispatched to the area of 93 Old Stamford Road—the sharp bend in Route 106 in New Canaan—on a report of a car crash, police said.
The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle, according to a police report.
On speaking with him, police found signs of impairment, the report said.
He was taken into custody on the misdemeanor charge, it said. Police additionally charged him with carrying a firearm while under the influence and motor vehicle-related offenses.
He was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 22 in state Superior Court.
