Congratulations to the New Canaan High School soccer team on a standout season.

Led by senior tri-captains Alex Hutchins, Ted O’Rourke and Chase Williams, the team notched twice as many victories as the prior year and saw more goals scored by more players this season.

O’Rourke, a center back, and junior goalkeeper Griffin Paterson made the all-FCIAC team, while midfielder Hutchins, center back Shaan Appel and midfielder Max Potter made the All-FCIAC East squad.

Other highlights for the NCHS boys varsity soccer team include:

  • Beat higher ranked teams (including Darien and Wilton)
  • Six shutouts (including Darien and Wilton)
  • Made states
  • First win in states (NC, seeded #30, beat #3 seed Platt Tech 3-0) since 2011
