Police last week arrested a 42-year-old Illinois man and charged him with carrying a pistol without a permit and five counts of illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle.
At about 7:07 a.m. on Nov. 29, officers were dispatched to the Talmadge Hill Train Station on a medical assist call, according to a police report.
There, officers found contraband that included drugs, drug paraphernalia and a firearm, the report said.
Police established probable cause and additionally charged the Springfield, Ill. man with possession of a controlled substance and two counts apiece of use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was transported to headquarters, held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 30.
Connecticut Judicial Branch records show that the man has not yet pleaded. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 6 and is represented by a public defender, court records show.
