Gasperina Ida Pagnotta Zimbaro entered eternal rest on June 30, 2021 at the age of ninety four. She was born on April 1, 1927 to the late Luigi Pagnotta and Teresina Chilleli Pagnotta. She married the late Adolfo Zimbaro in Italy on January 25, 1947. She arrived in the USA with her husband and four children on the SS Saturnia in 1960. She lived in Brooklyn until 1984 moved to Yonkers, then New York City and then New Canaan, Connecticut.
Gasperina was predeceased by sisters, Maria, Rosina, Angelina, and brothers Francesco, and Vincenzo.
She is Survived by her sons Frank (Yuliana), Aldo (Flora), Louis and daughter Maria (John).
Gasperina “Nonni” was adored and loved by her 6 grandchildren: Rosanna (John) Frank (Joanna) Danielle (Dwayne) Elizabeth (Rich) Grace and Leonardo, and 8 great grandchildren Sofia, Cara, JC, David, Frances, John Carter, Calista and Antonia.
Gasperina loved everyone, especially her family. She overcame incredible adversities by thinking positive, working hard, and believing in God. She lived her life with compassion, kindness, wisdom, and generosity because those qualities encapsulated who she was. Without her, the world is undoubtedly an empty place and Heaven is shining bright.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius 23 Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. A walk through visitation will be held Monday July 5, 2021 12-3 and 5-8 at Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main Street, New Canaan CT 06840. The entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532 (Following the funeral Mass.)
