Police cited a Greenwich teen on minor drug charges last week after spotting him and a friend in a car at Talmadge Hill Train Station parking lot, site of recent larcenies.

Just before midnight on June 24 (last Tuesday), police on patrol saw two individuals in a parked car start moving around when they spotted the cruiser, according to Sgt. Peter Condos of the New Canaan Police Department.

The driver tried to leave quickly and police stopped the car, Condos said. Officers could smell marijuana and saw a smoking pipe in plain view in the center console, and asked the occupants what else was there, according to a police report. They handed over the pipe, a bag with another pipe, two rolled joints and rolling papers, Condos said.

The driver, 18, said all the gear was his. He was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to renew his motor vehicle registration.
