Editor,
Last weekend, the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society hosted its first Mad Hatter Valentine’s Tea Party. Sold out within days, it was a wonderful way to bring new faces to the Museum and to welcome children, parents, caregivers, and grandparents for an afternoon of tea and treats. We were overwhelmed by, and grateful for, the enormous enthusiasm of both the planners and the attendees.
There are many people to thank for making this party a success:
- Meg Hely Walsh and the Grace Farms Foundation for their generosity in providing all of the tea for the event. Young and old loved the different flavors, with Hibiscus Orange and Spearmint winning the fan favorites.
- The Canaan Parish Chapter of the National Charity League for providing the delicious tea sandwiches and the fabulous sweets, as well as helping us to set-up, serve, and clean-up.
-
Megan Murphy Gould for capturing the joy of the day in her photographs.
- Susan Freedgood for her creative talents in decorating our tables.
- Jaime Gentile and Natalie Fiedler for their hard work and imagination. From goodie bags to lawn signs, their meticulous planning made sure every detail was perfect.
We look forward to expanding this event next year to welcome even more families to our campus!
Sincerely,
Frances Wilson, Board Governor, New Canaan Museum & Historical Society
