Police on Sunday afternoon arrested a 32-year-old Stamford man and charged him with interfering with an officer.
At about 4:31 p.m. on Feb. 11, an officer at South Avenue and Surrey Road clocked a vehicle speeding on South Avenue, according to a police report.
The officer stopped the car, the report said.
The driver gave an incorrect name, it said.
Through an investigation, the officer identified the driver, police said.
The man was placed under arrest at the scene on the misdemeanor charge. He also was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance and illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension, and cited for speeding.
Police released the man on $300 bond and scheduled him to appear Feb. 23 in state Superior Court.
