Now that the leaf blower referendum has been settled, it’s time to address other issues.

First, construction in residential areas should not be allowed seven days a week. During the week it starts at 7am and ends as late as 7pm. Saturday and Sunday only til 5PM. Can the Town be any more accommodating to developers?

Second, the clearing of entire lots of mature trees. The noise goes on for hours, and it’s louder than the blowers. Furthermore, the trees help to absorb water and runoff on neighboring properties and streets. After the storm last week, can anyone say flooding isn’t an issue. A fee or permit should be in place that can be used to maintain parks.

Last but not least, pickle ball courts in residential areas. That one speaks for itself and there is no end to that one.

Good luck working or studying from home in this Town.

  1. I’ve been saying throughout the leaf blower “debate” that NC needs a better noise ordinance because leaf blowers aren’t the only source of noise in town. Unfortunately that fell on deaf ears. Seems that we ended up with a ban that nobody is thrilled with and doesn’t solve the overarching noise problem.
