I am writing to ask every New Canaan resident, age 18 and over, to invest five minutes to complete the Community Health & Well-being Survey, open through, this Thursday, October 31st. Consider taking the survey your ‘Good Deed’ for the day.
Why would taking a survey constitute a Good Deed? I’m glad you asked. Your five minutes, coupled with your neighbors’ five minutes, your spouses’ five minutes, and many other five minutes will add up to anonymized data that will help shape the future of New Canaan’s health, mental health, and well-being resources. That data can help New Canaan unlock state and federal funding for vital local services. And in turn, if just one community member is helped by those services, your time will have been well invested and will have represented a Good Deed done for a neighbor.
I have personally taken the survey. It is not a heavy lift.
Here’s why it matters:
- Your input can guide important decisions that impact all of us.
- It’s a chance to ensure New Canaan gets the support we need for our health and wellness programs.
- We’re aiming for 100% participation from residents 18+—let’s make that happen!
A few key details about the survey:
- Survey Dates: Open now through October 31st
- Who Can Take It: If you’re 18+ and live here, or if you’re a parent of a New Canaan student, this is for you!
- Completely Anonymous: Your responses are confidential, and the results will be shared this winter at www.newcanaanbha.org, along with in-person community engagement sessions.
- How to Participate: Just head to www.newcanaanbha.org to take the survey.
Let’s make sure every voice counts in shaping the future of our community. Thank you for taking a moment to fill it out.

This is a thoughtful, caring, well-constructed survey, and a 100% response will make it meaningful and most useful.
