To the Editor:
Hopefully many residents have had the opportunity to view the veterans banners that are on display on Elm, Main and South Streets downtown. On behalf of the New Canaan MOM’s of Military, we would like to thank the sponsors of our Veteran’s Day Banner Project.
The generosity of the New Canaan Exchange Club and New Canaan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 653 allows our veterans to be honored with personalized banners downtown with no cost to the families. The project was started in 2019 by Jack Goetz (USMA Class of 2025) as an Eagle Scout project, and the local MOM’s of Military proudly continue this wonderful tradition. If you or a loved one is a veteran and is from or now living in New Canaan, you can contact Joelle Graham at joelle@thegrahamfamily.com if you would like to be considered for a banner.
Amy Plum and Joelle Graham
MOM’s of Military
Thank you all. Walking downtown today and seeing the banners was so inspiring.
I am proud to be a MOM and it was so moving to see a banner honoring one of our two military sons. Thank you Joelle and Amy for spearheading this effort every year.
