On Friday afternoon, families began arriving at the tree lot at Kiwanis Park to purchase trees, wreaths, roping, and other holiday decorations from the New Canaan Exchange Club.
There was a supporter who purchased a large tree, wreaths, and roping. Unbeknownst to us we did not charge him for the tree. He had left the tree lot and he discovered that we did not charge him for the tree. He drove back to us and argued with one of the cashiers that we missed the tree. We discovered our error and he paid for the tree.
If he had not returned, we may have never known our error.
That is one of the things I love about New Canaan is those people who will argue with you that they owe you more money.
All proceeds from the Exchange Club’s Christmas Tree Sales at Kiwanis go to the service organization’s grant program for local charities.
Thank you for helping us to help others.
Tree lot hours:
- Weekdays 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sat / Sun 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Regards,
Jim Hennessy
