New Canaan Police on April 23 arrested a 49-year-old Norwalk man by warrant and charged him with violation of a protective order.
He’s accused of contacting a woman in New Canaan, as well as their child, in violation of a court-issued order, according to an arrest warrant application obtained by NewCanaanite.com.
Officer Clinton Jarvis noted in his arrest warrant application that the man has been arrested four times prior by NCPD, the last three of which were for violating protective orders with the victim.
She notified police at about 10:04 p.m. on Feb. 25, saying he was calling and texting her, according to the arrest warrant application, signed by state Superior Court judge Bruce Hudock. That day, she received 25 phone calls and 10 texts, and “she was sure it was [the man] due to the context of the text messages. They include: “Please [victim], I have tried to call and find out how my children are,” “I need to know how they are,” “[Victim], you can answer thank you,” “[Victim], I don’t want to call DCF…,” “I don’t want to call” and “I simply want to know how my children are please” and “What does it hurt you to answer.”
He additionally contacted his daughter, also in violation of the protective order, the arrest warrant said.
The man turned himself in at about 10:09 a.m. on April 23 on a charge of violation of a protective order. Police held the man on $75,000 bond and scheduled him to appear the following day in state Superior Court.
