Michael John Grisé Sr.

Born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Mike was the dedicated son of Theresa F. Grisé and John P. Grisé, both of whom survive him. He is also survived by his cherished children, Michael Jr., Griffin, and Riley; his devoted partner, Meghan Hessel; his three loving sisters and their husbands, Patricia Lloyd (Alex), Collette Grisé Devaney (Jeff), and Jennifer Ferentzy (Steve); his sister and brother-in-law, Joanna and Bob Williams; his nieces and nephews, Meredith Infurchia, Bronwyn and Michael Lloyd, and Robert Williams; and his yellow lab BB, all of whom he held dear. Mike’s love also extended to his incredible circle of friends.

Mike grew up in Fairfield, CT, where he excelled in sports and thrived as a member of the lacrosse team at Fairfield College Preparatory High School, graduating in 1984. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in 1988.

Mike had a larger-than-life presence: hardworking, intelligent, thoughtful, and charismatic. His successful finance career included positions at Chemical Bank, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan. After retiring in 2018 to focus on his family, he continued to invest in several companies and played a key role in CGS Health’s medical stop-loss underwriting team.

Above all, Mike was a devoted father who never missed a game, match, or equestrian event, always beaming with pride and cheering his kids on with enthusiastic shouts of “Skate!” or “Go Rolls!”. He embraced life fully, enjoying travel, golfing, skiing, fishing, boating, and riding his motorcycle. His favorite destinations included the Waterville and Hogs Head golf courses in Ireland and the beaches of Nantucket. He always eagerly anticipated his next trip and returned with shared stories of joy.

Mike’s positive and optimistic spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 19th, from 4-7 p.m. at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St, New Canaan. His funeral mass will take place on Friday, September 20th, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church.
