The New Canaan High School Varsity Boys Squash team has kicked off this season with two wins.
On Dec. 8, the Varsity A team played St. Luke’s School. The Rams won all of their matches:
- Grayson Bubrosky, playing first on the Rams’ ladder, defeated Dennis Polyakov 11-8, 11-8, 11-5.
- Killian Bubrosky (2) beat Clay Kontulis 11-0, 11-4, 11-5.
- Christian Megherby (3) won against Ryan Holzberger, 6-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6.
- Kyle Finnican (4) defeated Logan Diliberto 11-5, 11-6, 11-3.
- Sam Havens (5) beat Ian Thomas 11-3, 11-3, 11-4.
- Teddy Holappa (6) won 11-3, 11-8, 11-6 against Hank Ferris.
- JP Sloan (7) was victorious over Ajit Akole, 11-4, 11-6, 11-4.
- Dylan Brennan (8) defeated Ryan Adams, 11-7, 11-3, 11-4.
On Dec. 3, the Varsity B team defeated Rye High School at Chelsea Piers in Stamford:
- Erik Burns (1) defeated Campbell Schulz 11-6, 11-7, 11-3 to lead off the team.
- Dylan Brennan (3) followed with a tight, but solid win against Will Squires, 11-8, 6-11, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9.
- Charlie Kallassy (4) beat CJ Sculti 13-11, 7-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8 in a very close matchup.
- Ben Wells (7) went to five games with his opponent, Jacob Paparella, and was ultimately triumphant at 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 3-11, 12-10.
- Sean Berry (8) also won his match against Ethan Sears, 11-1, 11-3, 11-5.
- JP Sloan (2) played Jake Katsikas but after a tough fight, lost 5-11, 11-13, 8-11. Justin Swift (5) had a difficult match against Andy Dabinett but lost in four games.
- Hugo Potter (6) played Matt Licursi but lost in a very close match with one of the three games going to a tiebreaker 10-12.
