Backyard Birding is Topic of New Canaan Library Webinar, Presented by Joe Attwater of RTP Estuary Center, CT Audubon

FreeAs spring comes into full season and the weather warms up many species of birds will begin to show up in Connecticut backyards, returning from wintering grounds further south. Join teacher and naturalist Joe Attwater from the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center, for a virtual backyard birding program. The program will be aired live on Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. EST. During the webinar Attwater will discuss, among other topics, which birds one can expect to see in Connecticut backyards this time of year and how to create a bird-friendly habitat, as well as tips, tricks and everything one needs to know to make the most of backyard birding.
Joe Attwater has a B.S. in Wildlife & Conservation Biology from the University of Rhode Island. During college he assisted with graduate research on migrating songbirds and seabirds and turned to sustainable food systems after graduating. He worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA for two years focusing on local agriculture. Joe promotes and coordinates community programming for the RTP Estuary Center and oversees the volunteer program as well as assists in teaching the K-12 education program and adult and family programs.
