FreeIn conjunction with the current photography exhibition or Alice Laurenson’s, we welcome professor Kevin Buterbaugh for a talk exploring what the war in Sudan can tell us about violent conflict and its consequences. He will discuss the underlying causes of the civil conflict, the humanitarian issues facing Sudan, as well as the global impact and significance.
Alice Laurenson has spent decades traveling the world as a leader of archeological tours, while photographing many of the people she has encountered. In conjunction with her current exhibition Connections & Reflections (on view January 8-18), Kevin Buterbaugh, Professor of Political Science at Southern Connecticut State University, will lead discussion on Sudan, one of the countries and cultures represented through Laurenson’s photographs.
