The open-air benefit concert will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 on the grounds of First Presbyterian Church in New Canaan. Rising country music star Taylor will perform songs to be released on his upcoming album, and there will be a pre-show dinner from Ridgefield’s Odeen’s Barbecue for VIP guests.

Additional sponsorship options are available for individuals and businesses.
Individual tickets are $75 and food and drinks will be available for purchase from Odeen’s, with 20% of proceeds benefiting First Candle. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased through First Candle, at https://firstcandle.org/country-music-for-a-cause/

At 22 Taylor is the youngest Black artist in country music history. He recorded his first single, “Back on My Mind Again” and released it on internet streaming formats where it gained the attention of Dolly Parton producer Kent Wells, who signed him on.

He is also a philanthropist, frequently performing benefit concerts for causes near to his heart.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve already had in life, and I want to use my talents to give back and support causes I believe in,” he said. “Each year 3,600 babies die from Sudden Unexpected Infant Death. Many of these are preventable, and the racial disparity in SUID rates is deeply disturbing.

“Black babies are dying at three times the rate of white babies, and First Candle is working tirelessly to educate and provide resources to those families most at risk.”

Proceeds will support First Candle’s mobile Mama Baby Wellness program in communities around Fairfield County. The program provides resources, education, and support for new and expecting families on safe sleep and breastfeeding as well as items such as portable cribs and wearable blankets to help prevent SUID.

First Candle is a national 501 (c)3 organization committed to ending Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID), which includes Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and accidental suffocation and strangulation in bed (ASSB), while providing bereavement support to families who have experienced infant loss due to SUID or Stillbirth. ###
