Summer Theatre of New Canaan Junior Company Presents
Legally Blonde JR. Friday July 24th at Waveny Park

Middle school age students from across lower Fairfield County make up the Junior Company of The Summer Theatre of New Canaan. Following a three-week intensive acting and rehearsal program, they will present one performance of Legally Blonde Jr. in the Summer Theatre of New Canaan’s Open-air tent theatre in Waveny Park, New Canaan. The junior acting company rehearsed and worked with the professional actors, creative and technical staff of the critically acclaimed main stage professional production of Legally Blonde, The Musical, currently running through August 9th, to present this fully produced production of the Junior version as a special event and part of the summer season at Waveny Park.

According to Artistic Director Melody Libonati, “This program is a great opportunity for young students to work in a fun, nurturing yet professional environment, training with theatre artists to put on a fully produced musical.” The student cast also attended the main stage production of Legally Blonde, The Musical, currently running at Waveny Park through August 9th and are trained and instructed by the professional cast members, creative team and college theatre interns.

The Junior Company performance of Legally Blonde Jr. is presented free and open to the public at 4PM, Friday July 24 at Waveny Park, New Canaan. Also, on weekends for children, The Summer Theatre of New Canaan presents professional kids shows featuring Charlotte’s Web, The Wizard of Oz and a new musical adaptation of Cinderella. For adults and teens, the summer theatre presents Legally Blonde, The Musical, the Broadway hit musical Connecticut critics are calling “THE PERFECT SUMMER SHOW” and “BETTER THAN BROADWAY”.
