Kathy McShane to Receive Our EmpowerHer Award

Kathy McShane, Managing Director of Ladies Who Launch in Connecticut has been selected to receive an EmpowerHer Award.
“EmpowerHer Awards are given out in celebration of the intelligence, strength, courage and determination of women who are creating social change, making a difference and inspiring others to do the same,” says Tanisha Akinloye, creator of the award.
Ms. McShane states, “I am honored to have been selected and to be part of this incredible movement. I continue to be amazed at the tremendous things that women do in support of other women.”
Other award recipients include Kitt Shapiro, daughter of the legendary entertainer Eartha Kitt, president of Eartha Kitt Productions & Simply Eartha; Carolyn Vermont, vice president at the National Black MBA Association; Trevor Crow, author, talk show host and therapist; Shantana Hazel, founder of the Sister-Girl Foundation, Inc. and Patricia West, mother of Logan West, Miss Teen Connecticut and Miss Teen USA.

About Kathy McShane

Kathy McShane brings her knowledge and experience from her successful 20-year career in marketing and product brand development to her work as a mentor and coach to women business owners through Ladies Who Launch, (http://www.ladieswholaunch.com/southwestct/), which has a growing membership of 350 women. In addition to managing Ladies Who Launch, Kathy is an adjunct professor at NYU and started the not-for-profit Exceptional Woman’s Series, where she showcases women who have made a difference in society. She is also a frequent speaker on issues that female entrepreneurs face.

About Empowering Through Beauty

In 2010 the Bridgeport-based nonprofit organization Empowering Through Beauty, Inc. (ETB) was launched to help homeless, unemployed or underemployed women who aspire to transition back into the workforce. Over the past four years, the nonprofit has assisted more than 500 clients (both men and women) in helping them feel more confident through beauty and health services, job training and education.
