LiveGirl Hosts Mother-Daughter Workshop Featuring Author Laurie Wolk

Wednesday, February, 1, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Free

LiveGirl will host a free mother/daughter workshop on Wednesday, February 1st at 7 pm in the Saxe Middle School Cafeteria. The featured speaker is Laurie Wolk, who recently published Girls Just Want to Have Likes: Raising Confident Girls in the Face of Social Media Madness. The session is recommended for girls in grades 5-8 and will be a fun mother/daughter bonding experience as they participate in interactive games and role model “real life” situations.

“The main objective of the workshop is to help mothers connect and communicate better with their daughters, which can be difficult during the middle school years,” said LiveGirl Founder Sheri West. The workshop will introduce the concept of “social esteem,” which takes into account an individual’s confidence in response to social media and (online and offline) relationships.

LiveGirl provides year-round leadership programs, including after school mentoring, a monthly leadership (speaker) series, and a summer camp. School year programs are free-of-charge and summer camp scholarships are available. To learn more, visit www.goLiveGirl.com.
