Men’s Club Speaker Describes Noted Distillery’s History

Drew Mayville, master blender at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States, will speak to the New Canaan Men’s Club, Friday, Nov. 3, about the company’s history and its product line of award-winning bourbons.
The club meets Fridays at 10 a.m. in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Mayville’s remarks will begin around 10:40 a.m., following the business portion of the meeting.
The distillery has won more than 40 industry titles since 2000 and its line of premium whiskeys has won more than 500 awards.
Mayville has more 40 years of experience with some of the largest companies in the beverage alcohol industry. Drew joined the distillery in 2004 as the master blender and director of quality. His vast breadth of experience is derived from almost 23 years with Seagram’s.
While at Seagram’s he was involved in all areas of manufacturing, including the Distillery, Quality, Bottling, Packaging QA and Specifications, Blending, and Technical Services for North America. Drew was the last Master Blender to serve under the Seagram dynasty.
Drew has worked with all the award-winning products produced at Buffalo Trace in addition to the other highly acclaimed spirit categories of the company.
