Men’s Club To Hear About the Reality of Artificial Intelligence

March 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Dr. Keith Duggar, chief technology officer of a leading technology company, will describe what artificial intelligence’s capabilities are, its promises and perils, at Friday’s New Canaan Men’s Club meeting in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
The March 8 meeting is set for 10 a.m. with Duggar’s remarks slated to begin around 10:40 a.m., after the business portion of the meeting.
Titled: “The AI Generation: Navigating the Nexus of Promise, Peril and Hyperbole,” Duggar will discuss artificial intelligence’s benefits, among them the ability to automate mundane tasks, improve efficiency, reduce errors, expand scientific boundaries and increase accessibility and inclusion.
Televised news reports have recently described AI’s application in medical diagnostics, enabling doctors to identify cancers in patients earlier, improving chances of recovery.
While AI’s benefits are numerous, Duggar will also speak to how its capabilities have been overestimated, and cautions against over-relying on AI at the expense of human expertise.
Duggar holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Chemical Engineering. In previous positions, he had technology roles at Microsoft.
The Men’s Club has openings for new members, men 55-years old and above. For information, email ncmens@ncmens.club.
