Remembrance Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence

Saturday, December, 8, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

WILTON, CONNECTICUT – NOVEMBER 27, 2018 – Wilton Quaker Meeting hosts a Remembrance Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence on Saturday, December 8th at 2 pm.

This is associated with the 6th Annual National Vigil being held in Washington, D.C.

The Remembrance Vigil in Wilton will give voice to the victims of gun violence, from mass shootings to the everyday gun violence that tragically happens in every community. We will also speak to hope, action, and change that are making a difference to curtail or end gun violence in our communities. Speakers include 3 presenters who have lost loved ones to gun violence, and also Will Haskell, CT State Senator-elect and Melissa Kane, Board Member, Connecticut Against Gun Violence.

Over 600,000 people have been killed or injured due to gun violence in the United States in the six years following the Sandy Hook tragedy that claimed the lives of 20 innocent children and 6 educators. During these six years, gun violence has continued to erupt across our country in schools, places of worship, public forums, and in our streets regardless of age, income, location, religion, or race.

The national vigil is held annually in Washington DC, and associated local vigils across the United States.

This is a free event and is open to the public. A coffee and networking period will immediately follow. Childcare will be provided.
