Rob Fryer Describes Running’s Health Benefits at Men’s Club
June 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Robin Fryer, a noted marathon runner and the author of a book on the benefits of running as exercise, will speak to the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday, June 28, at its regular meeting in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
A marathon runner since 1974, Fryer’s book, “Running For Your Life: Exploring the Amazing Benefits of Regular Exercise”, gives runners practical advice about what to wear, safe practices, and what to expect as one ages. Tallying up the distances of his marathons, ultramarathons and shorter runs, Fryer estimates he has run the distance equivalent to two-and-a-half times around the globe.
The men’s club meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Fryer speaking to the group around 10:40 a.m.
In his career, Fryer was with Deloitte for 45 years where he headed its mining industry practice worldwide. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Accountant and retired as a senior partner with the firm.
Fryer, a New Canaan resident since 1988, also serves as president of the New Canaan Land Trust Board.
