In recognition of Banned Books Week, join New Canaan Library for a screening of The Librarians, winner of the 2026 Primetime Emmy Award for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. Directed by Kim A. Snyder, this timely documentary follows librarians across the United States as they confront book challenges, political pressure, and threats to their careers while defending intellectual freedom and the right to read. The film examines how battles over books have become part of a larger national debate about education, representation, and democracy.
