Walk with Kya: Connecticut Marshlands through a Naturalist’s Eye presented at New Canaan Library, by Zoologist and Conservationist Jim Knox

FreeIn conjunction with New Canaan Library’s 12th annual Literary Luncheon, featuring Delia Owens, speaking on her New York Times bestseller Where the Crawdads Sing, the Library offers a unique presentation by zoologist and Beardsley Zoo curator Jim Knox. The talk will take place on Saturday, November 9 at 11:30 a.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Join Jim Knox as he profiles Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdad’s Sing through a naturalist’s eyes. Knox will discuss marsh ecosystems and explain what makes them so precious to the health of our planet. He will also delve into the world of Connecticut’s wetlands and teach attendees what can be done to protect them. A highlight of the talk will be the chance to meet beautiful ambassador animals up close and discover their remarkable adaptations firsthand. Photography is encouraged and all ages are welcome.
Jim Knox is a Zoologist, Cornell University graduate, TEDX Speaker, Keynote speaker, Curator of Education (Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo), field conservationist (Alaska-Grizzly bears, New England-Atlantic salmon, South Africa-Great White sharks), and Lecturer: Yale University, UCONN, Fairfield University, and PBS Host (Wild Zoofari).
