MONDAY, Jan. 10—The New Canaan Museum & Historical Society (NCM&HS) and NewCanaanite.com today announced a new partnership whereby the local news outlet becomes an official media sponsor of the nonprofit organization.
Under the partnership, NCM&HS programs, events and exhibits will be spotlighted in the New Canaanite‘s calendar, newsletter and popular “Did You Hear…?” standing feature, as well as through ads. The news site will be listed as a media sponsor of the same events, and also will launch a photography-centered standing feature in partnership with NCM&HS.
“The Museum is very excited to partner with NewCanaanite.com,” NCM&HS Executive Director Nancy Geary said in a statement. “We appreciate its help to notify the broader community about our programs, events, and exhibitions. And we look forward to sharing historical information and archival photos with all of the NewCanaanite’s readers.”
NewCanaanite.com owner and editor Michael Dinan said the partnership makes sense for the news site, where articles about local history have always been popular among readers.
“This is a natural fit for the New Canaanite with one of the town’s most respected and most important nonprofit organizations,” Dinan said in a statement.
The new feature, “New Canaan Now & Then,” will place images from the past selected from NCMHS archives of streetscapes, homes, businesses and other landmarks throughout New Canaan side-by-side with an updated photo of what the same area looks like today, and contextual information supplied by NCMHS staff.
