Held in Stamford on New Canaan’s active warrant, the woman in September had written two bad checks for $695 apiece, according to a police report.

The woman was released after promising to appear March 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police last Thursday cited a 21-year-old Stamford man on a minor drug charge while investigating a reported motor vehicle accident.

At about 6:18 a.m. on March 10, New Canaan Police received word that an accident had occurred earlier in the morning in Bedford, N.Y. and the occupants of the vehicle involved could be in town, according to a police report.

Based on their investigation, officers contacted the Stamford resident, and while speaking to him, found a small bag of pot, the report said.

He was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana.
