Police on Saturday night arrested a 16-year-old New Canaan resident on alcohol-related charges after coming upon an underage drinking party at a North Wilton Road home.
At about 9:04 p.m. on Jan. 13, New Canaan Police received an anonymous tip about the party, according to a police report.
Arriving, officers saw 20 to 30 juveniles running away from them, the report said.
They found evidence of the party inside, such as empty bottles of alcohol and a strong odor of marijuana, it said.
The officers subsequently issued a juvenile summons to the teen on charges of allowing minors to possess alcohol and failure to halt possession of alcohol by a minor.
The case was referred to the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court.
