Police last week arrested a Jelliff Mill Road woman, 40, with a recent history of criminal charges in New Canaan.
At about 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 9, the victim came to NCPD headquarters to report a dispute between himself or herself and the arrested woman, police said.
Following an investigation, authorities established probable cause to arrest the woman on a charge of disorderly conduct, according to a police report. Police issued a misdemeanor summons on scene, the report said.
According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, she’s already facing the following charges:
- Third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct (arrested in August 2019 by New Canaan Police);
- Third-degree assault (arrested April 2022 by Norwalk Police);
- Attempt to commit third-degree assault, attempt to commit violation of a protective order and attempt to commit disorderly conduct (arrested June 2022 by New Canaan Police).
Police withheld details of the most recent arrest, saying it’s a domestic matter. Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when he or she, “with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person,” among other reasons.
The woman was released after promising to appear Oct. 13 in state Superior Court.
