Police last Thursday night arrested a 50-year-old New Canaan woman and a teenage boy following a family dispute.
At about 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 19, officers were dispatched to a Hawks Hill Road home on a report of a dispute between two occupants of the residence, according to a police report.
Following an investigation, police charged the woman and a 17-year-old male at the home each with disorderly conduct.
It isn’t clear what the dispute involved, whether or how the arrested people are related or what prompted police to bring the misdemeanor charge. Police withheld further information, saying the incident has been classified as a domestic matter. Under state law, a person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or by offensive or disorderly conduct, annoys or interferes with another person, among other reasons.
The woman was released after promising to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk. Police withheld the boy’s name because of his age.
