The New Canaan Building Department this month issued a permit to construct a 5,197-square-foot house on Main Street.
The new five-bedroom home at 513 Main St. will include four full bathrooms, one half-bath and a finished basement, according to a permit issued Sept. 12.
It also will include new underground electrical service and will reuse existing natural gas service, the permit said.
It will cost an estimated $1,050,000 to build, the permit said, generating $10,575 in fees for the town.
The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based JRS Development LLC, the permit said, and the architect is Douglas Cutler Architects of Wilton.
The .75-acre property included a 1950-built, 1,356-square-foot ranch-style home when it was purchased in June 2022 for $800,000. The new owner, a limited liability company whose managing principal is a town resident, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records, obtained a demolition permit in July.
