The New Canaan Building Department on May 16 approved an application to construct a 3,948-square-foot home at the corner of Ponus Ridge and Adams Lane.
The five-bedroom house planned for 295 Ponus Ridge will include five full bathrooms and one half-bath, as well as a finished three-car garage and 2,069-square-foot basement, according to the permit.
It will cost about $1.4 million to build, the permit said.
The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based IJ Development Co., LLC, the architect Rodger Braley Architects of Newtown, it said.
The 1.36-acre property had been purchased in August 2023 for $1,050,000, tax records show. It had a 1925-built, 1,890-square-foot Colonial on it at the time, and the new owner secured a demo permit for that structure in April.
