The New Canaan Building Department on Nov. 14 received an application to build a 4,600-square-foot home on South Avenue.
The five-bedroom house planned for 255 South Ave. will include five bathrooms and a three-car garage, according to the building permit application.
It will cost about $1.2 million to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Cognetta Homes LLC, the architect ISO Architects of Norwalk.
The .52-acre property had been purchased in January for $1,690,000, tax records show.
In August, the town issued a permit to demolish the 1921-built house on the lot, building records show.
