Police on Monday night arrested a 53-year-old New Canaan man by warrant in connection with a single-car motor vehicle accident in February.
At about 5:54 p.m. on April 4, the New Norwalk Road man turned himself in on an active warrant for driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane, according to a police report.
The Feb. 7 accident had occurred at about 10:27 a.m. at Smith Ridge and Michigan Roads, the report said. Police secured a warrant for the motorist’s arrest based on their investigation following the crash. It isn’t clear whether he failed field sobriety, breath or blood-alcohol tests. Information on his blood-alcohol level was not immediately available.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear April 14 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
