Police on Saturday afternoon arrested a 61-year-old Stratford man and charged him with interfering with an officer.
At about 2:48 p.m. on Sept. 12, officers were dispatched for a welfare check of an occupant of a Farm Road home, according to a police report.
In the driveway there, police found the man, a friend of the resident of the home, the report said.
He was standing near his vehicle and wasn’t complying with the officer’s requests to step away from it so they could conduct an investigation regarding the resident’s welfare, police said.
As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with the misdemeanor offense.
He was held on $500 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 14 in state Superior Court.
