Police on Friday night arrested a 41-year-old Danbury man in connection with a serious car crash on Wahackme Road.
Officers detected signs of impairment in the man after responding to a report of a crash near the intersection of Dogwood Lane, police said.
The man failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving, according to a police report.
He refused to undergo a test to establish his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
As previously reported, a passenger in the landscaping truck the man was driving was transported to the Emergency Room at Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle struck a guardrail and utility pole prior to coming to rest in the yard of 242 Wahackme Road, police said.
The man was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear June 17 in state Superior Court.
