A motorcyclist was transported to Norwalk Hospital before dawn Wednesday after crashing in the area of Smith Ridge and North Wilton Roads, officials say.
New Canaan Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the scene at about 1:31 a.m., according to a press release issued by NCPD Lt. Marc DeFelice, the department’s public information officer.
“The investigation has revealed that the motorcycle was traveling north on Smith Ridge Road and left the roadway to a grass area at the intersection of Smith Ridge Road and North Wilton Road,” the release said. “The motorcycle operator, adult male and sole rider was found in the grass area next to the motorcycle.”
No one else was involved in the crash and there were no witnesses.
The extent and seriousness of injuries was not immediately clear.
